A HISTORY OF HARBOUR SHIPPING
Since our foundation in April 1983, Harbour Shipping Ltd has offered a constantly expanding range of services to an increasingly diverse client base spread across the length and breadth of the UK and Europe. Over the years, the company has expanded from its origins of providing roll-on roll-off freight ferry bookings and customs clearance to include a wide range of complementary European services. We are constantly innovating and remain at the cutting edge of IT and industry developments.

Over the years, the company has developed from its origins of providing roll-on roll-off freight ferry bookings and customs clearance to a wide range of complementary European services. Many of our colleagues have been with the company for years if not decades and are highly experienced authorities in their specialist fields.

Harbour Shipping Ltd is a proudly independent agent and we've always worked to ensure our clients get the best possible service. We provide consistently excellent UK customs clearance across the full range of roll-on roll-off vehicles through the Port of Dover together with deep-sea container movements through the majority of the UK’s ports and airports. We provide European toll tags and badges and credit facilities for the transit of French, Spanish, Italian, Belgian, German and Austrian motorway networks and the Alpine tunnels. We also have our own convenient Bureau de Change facility at Dover Western Docks offering competitive Euro-GBP rates for drivers. 
Today we operate our comprehensive 24-hour services 7 days a week providing bookings on all major and most minor routes including the UK South Coast ports, the North Sea, Scandinavian and Mediterranean Seas.
We're proud to be a leader in our industry upholding the highest professional standards. So Harbour Shipping is a member of the British International Freight Association (BIFA), which is the trade association for UK-registered companies engaged in international movement of freight by all modes of transport, air, road, rail and sea.

OUR LOCATIONS

Harbour Shipping operate 2 offices in Dover at the Tridax Business Park, Whitfield just off the main A2 approaches to the Eastern Docks  and Lord Warden House at the Western Docks.
Our Dover Western Docks office is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year for Customs Clearance and Bureau de Change. We're staffed by knowledgeable customs clearance specialists, experienced in customer service to our multinational and multilingual clients, drivers and hauliers.
